The Game Boy Color (GBC) is a handheld game console released by Nintendo in 1998. It is the successor to the original Game Boy and features a colour screen and improved hardware over its predecessor.

The GBC features an 8-bit CPU and a 32 kilobyte RAM, which is double the amount found in the original Game Boy. The colour display can show up to 56 different colours on screen at the same time, which is a significant improvement over the original Game Boy's monochrome display.

The console is powered by two AA batteries, which can provide up to 10 hours of gameplay. The GBC is backward compatible with allÂ Game Boy games, allowing players to play theirÂ favouriteÂ Game Boy titles on the new colour screen.
