The Game Boy Advance SP (GBA SP) is a redesigned version of the original GBA that was released in 2003. It features a clamshell design that allows the console to fold in half for easy portability and protection of the screen.

The GBA SP includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides longer battery life compared to the original GBA's AA batteries. It also includes a front-lit screen that allows for improved visibility in low-light environments.
